Ranchi, June 29: In a significant move to enhance the education system, Jharkhand has appointed 1,042 assistant teachers trained at the intermediate and graduate levels for government schools. The appointment letters were distributed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren during a ceremony held at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in the capital, Ranchi.
CM Hemant Soren congratulated the newly appointed teachers and emphasized that they are not just receiving jobs but are entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the future of the next generation. He highlighted the crucial role teachers play in developing children’s personalities and guiding the future of society.
He acknowledged the frequent criticisms of the government education system and urged the new teachers to strengthen public trust through their dedication and work ethic.
The Chief Minister stated that knowledge is the foundation for positive societal change and that a better, more aware society can only be built through education. Among the newly appointed teachers, 274 assistant teachers are designated for grades one to five, while 768 are for grades six to eight. The graduate-trained assistant teachers include 387 in social science, 231 in mathematics and science, and 150 in language subjects.
In terms of district-wise appointments, Palamu received the highest number with 123 assistant teachers. Following Palamu, Giridih saw 92 appointments, Koderma 81, Sahibganj 63, West Singhbhum 61, Deoghar 59, Dumka 54, Godda 53, and Pakur 51 teachers appointed. Other districts like Dhanbad, Latehar, East Singhbhum, and Jamtara received 42, 41, and 39 appointments respectively. Ranchi secured 36, while Saraikela-Kharsawan and Garhwa each received 34. Gumla had 27, Bokaro 24, Simdega 21, Hazaribagh 15, Khunti 12, Lohardaga 11, and Ramgarh had four assistant teachers appointed.
The ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore and senior officials from the School Education and Literacy Department.
