Chandigarh, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a Member of Parliament from the Shiromani Akali Dal, has launched a scathing attack on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the brutal treatment of a young man in the state.
On Friday, Badal expressed her outrage on social media, questioning, “What is happening in Punjab? Why are innocent Punjabi villagers being treated like terrorists?” She highlighted that the young man had protested against the failures of Mann and AAP just a day earlier.
Badal accused the authorities of trying to silence the protester through violent means. “They electrocuted him, beat him mercilessly, removed his turban, and disrespected his beard,” she stated, emphasizing that this attack on the dignity of her Sikh brother was unacceptable and ordered by Arvind Kejriwal.
The Akali Dal leader affirmed that her party stands firmly with the young man and his family, pledging to provide all possible support for his recovery. She also indicated that they would pursue legal action in this case. “We are Punjab, and we will not accept such tyranny,” she declared.
The incident occurred in Shero village, where a staged public relations event for the Chief Minister was taking place. During the gathering, the young man voiced his opposition to AAP, prompting police to swiftly detain him and subject him to severe beating.
Badal shared a video of the confrontation on social media, asserting that it exemplifies how the voices of Punjabis are being suppressed under AAP’s rule. She criticized the four years of complete power that have transformed the Chief Minister from a comedian into a dictator, stating, “Today, anyone in Punjab who raises their voice or demands accountability is silenced. The people of Punjab are watching closely and will take revenge for these injustices.”
