Mathura, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked the eve of Krishna Janmashtami by celebrating with local residents in Mathura on September 3, 2026. He filled a traditional pot with butter, symbolizing a gift of joy for the community. During the event, he inaugurated the Swami Haridas Prakashgriha and honored local saints.
In a display of gratitude, the Chief Minister recognized beneficiaries of various state schemes. He presented a tractor key to one recipient before the festivities. Members from the Saperas community, along with local representatives and women from self-help groups, presented him with mementos. He also launched a book by retired IAS officer Aradhana Johari and congratulated her on the occasion.
Adityanath interacted with children, offering them toys and sweets, and participated in their rice-eating ceremony, known as annaprashan. He also distributed gift baskets of fruits to mothers in attendance.
The inauguration of the Swami Haridas Prakashgriha was a highlight, where the Chief Minister, along with MP and actress Hema Malini, posed for photographs. A short film showcasing the development of the auditorium was screened, and the Chief Minister met with young priests who chanted mantras.
Students from Hanuman Prasad Dhanuka School in Vrindavan performed the national anthem, while 51 artists showcased different dance forms representing Lord Krishna, choreographed by Shivani Mishra from BHU Varanasi.
The Chief Minister took time to visit stalls set up by various departments, learning about the progress of state initiatives and the work of women artisans. He engaged with members of self-help groups to understand their contributions.
During the event, Adityanath distributed financial assistance to 7,240 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 (urban) and the Chief Minister’s rural housing scheme. He presented approval letters, certificates, and keys to various beneficiaries from different programs.
Notable distributions included a check for five lakh rupees to Manoj Kumar under the Chief Minister’s Young Entrepreneur Development Campaign, and tools for the tailoring trade to Archana under the Vishwakarma Labor Honor Scheme. He also awarded approval letters for significant amounts to other beneficiaries in agriculture, fisheries, and digital library initiatives.
This celebration not only honored local traditions but also highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to community development and support.
