Ajay Rai Questions Management of Ram Temple, Calls for Religious Leaders Involvement

Ayodhya, August 12: Ajay Rai, the President of the Congress party in the state, visited Ayodhya on Wednesday and launched a sharp critique against the state government and the BJP regarding the management of the Ram Temple. He raised concerns about the role of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), stating that in a religious city like Ayodhya, the involvement of saints and religious leaders should be prioritized over administrative officials.

Rai accused the authorities of turning the Ram Temple into a source of revenue rather than a center of faith. Speaking to reporters at Ayodhya Airport, he also highlighted the alleged theft of donations at the temple. He dismissed the actions taken so far as mere formalities, insisting that strict measures should be taken against those accused of irregularities in counting the donations or being involved in the incident.

He demanded the arrest of the guilty parties, asserting that merely advancing investigations is not enough. The Congress leader emphasized that Ayodhya is not just a religious site but a center of faith for millions. Therefore, the management of the temple should ensure the participation of saints and religious leaders. The operations should respect the dignity and traditions of this holy city.

Ajay Rai also questioned the actions of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the donation-related issues. He stated that if serious allegations are made against an individual, effective legal action against the guilty must accompany the investigation. He called for a fair inquiry to bring the culprits to light.

Regarding the upcoming assembly elections, Rai mentioned that issues such as law and order, unemployment, inflation, the future of youth, and management at religious sites will be prominent. He claimed that people in the state are rallying behind Congress and Rahul Gandhi, and this support will be evident in the upcoming elections.

Targeting the BJP and RSS, Rai alleged that their actions are affecting the sanctity and religious essence of Ayodhya. However, he did not provide specific evidence to support his claims. On the issue of law and order, Rai criticized the government, referencing the recent murder of a Brahmin youth in Gorakhpur with a sword, stating that criminals have become emboldened, raising safety concerns among the public. He urged the government to ensure accountability regarding law and order.

Rai’s statements in Ayodhya are viewed as part of the Congress party’s strategy to address temple management, law and order, and employment issues ahead of the assembly elections. Meanwhile, there has been no immediate response from the BJP regarding Rai’s allegations.
