
Lohardaga, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Late Tuesday night, an alarming incident unfolded in Lohardaga, Jharkhand, where an attempt was made to vandalize the Jama Masjid and the shrine of Hazrat Baba Dukhan Shah. The news of the attempted desecration spread quickly on Wednesday morning, igniting tension and anger among local residents.
In response, community members apprehended the accused individual and handed him over to the local police. A significant number of locals took to the streets to protest against the incident. Demonstrators gathered in front of Jama Masjid from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, expressing their outrage. They voiced concerns that the manner in which the incident occurred suggested it could be part of a calculated conspiracy.
Protesters speculated that the young man might have been sent by a group or conspirators to incite unrest. They demanded a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter, urging authorities to identify and take strict legal action against the main conspirators involved.
The Anjuman Islamia organization submitted a written application to the Sadar police station, detailing the incident and calling for fair action.
Preliminary police inquiries and information from the accused’s family indicate that the young man may be suffering from mental health issues. However, authorities stated that they are examining all aspects of the case closely, including the mental health angle. To maintain peace in the area, police forces have been deployed, and the situation is being monitored closely.
