Ajay Rai Criticizes UP Government Over Lucknow Incident and Corruption Allegations

Mumbai, June 23: Ajay Rai, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, has launched a strong attack on the BJP government regarding the recent incident in Lucknow. He criticized the ongoing SIT investigation, the Ayodhya donation fund controversy, and various allegations of corruption in different states. Rai stated that the government fails to prevent such incidents and only pretends to conduct investigations after tragedies occur.

In response to the Lucknow incident, Rai remarked that while the government makes grand statements, it neglects its fundamental responsibilities. Investigations only commence after significant events take place. He pointed out that a probe into coaching institutions is now underway across the state, questioning why such investigations were not initiated earlier. The occurrence of such an incident in the state capital, Lucknow, is extremely serious.

Rai claimed that the building where the incident occurred had already been ordered for demolition due to its illegal status. He raised concerns about why it was not demolished in a timely manner if there was an order in place. According to him, the children who lost their lives did not perish solely due to the fire; they were trapped inside because the biometric entrance was locked. He asserted that the door failed to open during the incident, leading to the loss of many lives.

He accused the situation of being linked to administrative negligence and corruption. The failure to act despite the demolition order raises serious questions. The responsibility for this incident lies with the government, and its officials should be held accountable. He demanded that legal action be taken against them, suggesting that murder charges should be filed, leading to imprisonment. Strict measures must be enforced in this case.

Rai also questioned the SIT formed to investigate the Ayodhya donation fund controversy, suggesting it was created to mislead the public. He noted that the inclusion of already tainted officials in the SIT undermines its legitimacy. As no FIRs have been filed against any individuals so far, he asked on what basis the SIT is proceeding with its investigation.

Challenging the government, Rai stated that if it genuinely considers itself honest and claims to be devotees of Ram, it should order an investigation by a sitting High Court judge immediately to restore public trust.

Commenting on allegations regarding land purchases by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s relatives in Madhya Pradesh’s new highway construction areas, Rai asserted that corruption has reached alarming levels wherever the BJP governs. Whether in Uttar Pradesh or any other state, corruption has escalated under BJP administrations. Schools and colleges are being established by BJP affiliates, with land grabs occurring.

Rai also referenced an incident in Bihar, alleging that a child was shot by police in a fake encounter. Additionally, he highlighted the deteriorating conditions in West Bengal, stating that wherever the BJP governs, the situation worsens, and the public faces numerous challenges.
