Kangra, June 27: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhu will visit the Bada Bhangal region on Saturday. This marks the first visit by a Chief Minister to this area in 14 years. Bada Bhangal is one of the most remote and inaccessible regions in Himachal Pradesh, still lacking basic facilities.
According to reports, CM Sukhu will arrive at the Bada Bhangal helipad on Saturday morning. From there, he will walk through the villages in the Bada Bhangal area to assess the local conditions. In the afternoon, he will also visit Upper Bada Bhangal village.
The Chief Minister arrived at Kangra Airport the previous day, where he departed for the Circuit House in Dharamshala under tight security. Speaking to reporters at the airport, he emphasized the significance of his upcoming visit to Bada Bhangal, stating that this program had been in the works for a long time and is now finalized.
Sukhu mentioned that under the ‘Government at the Doorstep’ initiative, he will spend a night in Bada Bhangal village. During this time, he aims to engage directly with local residents to understand their issues and needs. He reiterated that the government’s goal is to ensure development and the benefits of government schemes reach the most remote areas of the state.
The Chief Minister also indicated that plans will be discussed to connect Bada Bhangal to the rest of the country by road and to promote overall development in the region. He noted that an assessment of the damage caused by recent natural disasters will also be conducted, as it is the responsibility of both the government and elected representatives to assist affected individuals.
Sukhu stated that reaching remote and difficult areas with development is a priority for the state government. This visit to Bada Bhangal is expected to be a significant step in that direction.
