Lucknow, August 24: Aishwarya Raj, the state president of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), responded to the recent inclusion of former Congress leaders Sajid Khan Azmi and Tarun Gupta into the party. He expressed confidence that many more individuals will join RLD in the coming days.
In a press interaction on Monday, Raj stated that Sajid Khan Azmi has become a part of their party today. He has been a strong worker within Congress. Raj believes that many individuals who align with the principles of Chaudhary Charan Singh will join them soon. This influx will provide new momentum to the party, benefiting them in the political arena. Tarun Gupta has also joined RLD, and Raj feels that the addition of these leaders from Eastern to Western Uttar Pradesh will strengthen the party significantly.
He noted that the way Jayant Chaudhary is currently voicing the interests of various societal groups is attracting many to become part of the National Lok Dal. With upcoming elections, all political parties in the state have become active. Raj mentioned that he has heard that the Samajwadi Party leader made some inappropriate remarks about their community. He advised avoiding such comments, as they would not yield any political advantage. Maintaining decorum in language is essential. They have created only one community, which is the farmers. Their primary objective is to ensure the welfare of farmers and amplify their voices.
Raj emphasized that Chaudhary Charan Singh also advocated for farmers and even formed a group dedicated to their issues. They will continue to include various farmer-related groups in their efforts, ensuring that there is no compromise on farmers’ interests.
He also commented on Ajay Rai’s visit to Ayodhya, stating that he learned that the Congress state president engaged in activities there that could hurt religious sentiments. Ayodhya is a sacred land not just for Hindus but for every individual living in India. Any actions that could offend someone’s religious beliefs are inappropriate.
