Abu Azmi Criticizes BJPs Treatment of Nitish Kumar, Warns of Consequences

Mumbai, April 14: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned from his position on Tuesday. In the wake of this, Samrat Chaudhary has been elected as the leader of the BJP’s Bihar legislative party. Senior leader of the Samajwadi Party, Abu Azmi, expressed that justice has not been served to Nitish Kumar. He believes that if any fairness had been shown, the JD(U) would have appointed a Chief Minister.

In a conversation in Mumbai, Azmi stated that he has known Nitish Kumar for a long time. He described Kumar as a very simple person. Azmi asserted that if Kumar had not supported the BJP, the party would not have been able to form a government, nor would they have had a Chief Minister. He noted that Kumar has changed governments multiple times, which has ultimately led to his current predicament. Azmi emphasized that Kumar, a follower of B.R. Ambedkar, made a significant mistake by resigning. He believes that Kumar’s departure will weaken the BJP.

Regarding the upcoming elections in Bengal, Azmi remarked that the BJP will attempt to win by any means necessary, which is detrimental to democracy. He urged the public to stand against such actions and stated that the people support Mamata Banerjee.

Azmi also claimed that Humayun Kabir was supported by the BJP. He pointed out that a sting operation revealed the party’s strategy to win elections by dividing Muslim votes.

On the Women’s Reservation Bill, Azmi stated that he does not oppose the bill. However, he suggested that if there were separate reservations for Dalit and Muslim women, it would amplify women’s voices.

Celebrating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Azmi highlighted the significance of the day, especially for marginalized Muslims. He noted that the Constitution, crafted by Ambedkar, grants him the right to live in this country. In an era of rising communalism, he believes the Constitution empowers the oppressed. Azmi criticized the government for attempting to strip away this power.

He pointed out that the Constitution does not permit the demolition of homes for crimes, yet such actions are occurring. The Constitution does not endorse violence or discrimination against Dalits, and Azmi argued that the government is undermining the rights that Ambedkar fought for.

Azmi emphasized that the Constitution provides equality and reservations for weaker sections to compete fairly in society. He accused the government of trying to eliminate reservations through backdoor methods.

Expressing concern over the drug problem, Azmi stated that if the government wanted to, it could control the issue, but it has failed to do so.

On the topic of love jihad, Azmi expressed skepticism about the notion that Muslims force conversions. He believes there are hidden aspects to this issue and called for a thorough investigation. He reiterated that the Quran clearly states that no one should be forced to convert, nor should there be forced marriages or the construction of temples on mosques.
