Varanasi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian People’s Youth Front (BJYM) is organizing the ‘Seva Yatra’ from Varanasi to Vadnagar, starting on September 17 and running until October 7. This initiative aims to connect the youth with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service and nation-building. More than 1,000 young participants, referred to as ‘Seva Yatris’, will join this journey, which will unfold in two directions: from Vadnagar to Varanasi and vice versa.
Dr. Hemang Joshi, the national president of BJYM and a Member of Parliament from Vadodara, emphasized that this journey is more than just a motorcycle ride. It is a campaign to inspire the youth of India to engage in service, society, and nation-building, reflecting Modi’s dedication to public life.
He noted that Modi’s 25 years in public service serve as an inspirational journey for the youth, encouraging them to become active participants in nation-building rather than mere spectators of change. The connection between Vadnagar, symbolizing Modi’s struggles and early life, and Varanasi, representing his current parliamentary constituency, illustrates the journey’s purpose of linking service with the aspirations of the youth.
Participants from various states, including Tamil Nadu, Assam, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Bihar, and the northeastern region, will join the Yatra. The diversity in languages, regions, and cultures among the youth will reinforce the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ (One India, Great India).
The Yatra will traverse 20 different routes, named after India’s sacred rivers, covering 10 states, 193 districts, 773 tehsils, and 1,159 villages. Each stop along the way will provide opportunities for service activities, allowing youth to connect directly with their communities. Activities will include tree planting, cleanliness drives, drug-free initiatives, and awareness programs on water conservation and plastic pollution.
Dr. Joshi stated that the message is clear: the welcome will not be through garlands but through service and cleanliness. Local BJYM workers will conduct cleanliness drives at the respective locations two days before the arrival of the Seva Yatris as part of the ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ initiative.
As part of the journey, Seva Yatris traveling from Vadnagar to Varanasi will carry water from Gujarat’s sacred rivers to perform rituals at Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Conversely, those traveling from Varanasi to Vadnagar will bring water from Uttar Pradesh‘s holy rivers to offer at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Vadnagar. This exchange symbolizes a shared commitment to faith, culture, and service.
Dr. Joshi remarked that India’s rivers are not merely sources of water but lifelines of our civilization, culture, and faith. By making water a symbol of this journey, the initiative expresses the cultural unity and commitment to service across the nation.
He concluded by stating that Modi’s life exemplifies that politics should not be solely about power but about serving society and building the nation. The ‘Seva Yatra’ aims to convey this message to the youth of India, encouraging every young person to incorporate service into their lives and contribute to the development of a prosperous India.
