
Dehradun, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to expedite the repair of roads across Uttarakhand. During a review meeting at the secretariat on September 14, he emphasized the need for swift action to address road damage caused by the recent monsoon. Dhami instructed district magistrates to regularly assess road conditions in their respective districts and ensure effective monitoring of the work carried out by relevant departments and agencies. He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards in road construction and repairs.
The Chief Minister also announced plans for surprise inspections of roadways after October 15.
In addition, Dhami reviewed arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra, urging that all travel-related services be maintained at a high standard. He highlighted the need for ongoing oversight of traffic, health, drinking water, sanitation, and other essential services along pilgrimage routes to prioritize the safety and convenience of devotees. District magistrates and departments are expected to coordinate effectively to ensure smooth travel arrangements.
Dhami further discussed the third phase of the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ initiative, aiming to enhance its effectiveness. He encouraged the use of camps to provide government services and address public concerns promptly. The goal is to bring governance closer to the people for quicker resolution of issues.
While reviewing preparations for the ‘Service Commitment Campaign,’ the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure effective implementation of proposed programs. He emphasized the importance of public service, participation, and welfare, aiming to connect more citizens with government initiatives.
Additionally, Dhami called for all necessary measures to prevent swine flu and other infectious and waterborne diseases. He urged district magistrates to inspect hospitals regularly and assess cleanliness, availability of essential medicines, and medical supplies. The health department and district administration are to work together to ensure effective disease prevention, treatment, and control, with ongoing monitoring of the situation.
The Chief Minister concluded by stating that there should be no slackening in efforts related to public welfare. Government officials must work in coordination to ensure timely delivery of services and benefits to eligible citizens.
