Deeg, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The recent municipal elections in Deeg, Rajasthan, have resulted in a fragmented outcome, with no party securing a clear majority. The results, announced on September 11, revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the largest party, winning 16 of the 40 available seats. However, they fell short of the 21 seats needed for a majority, leaving them five seats away from power.
Polling took place on September 11, and the counting began early on September 14 at Kishan Lal Joshi Senior Secondary School in Deeg. The counting process, which unfolded over eight rounds, was marked by significant enthusiasm from candidates and their supporters. The results indicated that the municipal council would once again be a hung body.
While the BJP’s 16 seats represent a notable achievement, it lacks the necessary support to form a governing board independently. To establish a board, the party will need to secure the backing of at least five additional councilors.
