Jaipur, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan’s municipal elections have concluded with a significant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his gratitude to party workers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a press conference at the BJP state office in Jaipur on September 14, 2026.
Sharma highlighted that this historic win reflects the hard work of grassroots party members and the development initiatives undertaken over the past two and a half years. He stated, “This victory is a testament to the efforts of BJP workers and the implementation of our government’s development projects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been our face in this election.”
He emphasized that the BJP has fulfilled its promises to the public and assured that all commitments made will be honored. “We pledged to conduct simultaneous elections under the ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative, and we are following through on that promise,” Sharma added. He criticized the Congress party for making false promises to the public.
The Chief Minister thanked the citizens of Rajasthan for their support in the municipal elections, dedicating the victory to both the party workers and the people of the state. He noted that the public has endorsed the historical achievements made under Modi’s leadership in recent years. “The youth of Rajasthan have once again placed their trust in Prime Minister Modi,” he remarked, underscoring the support from young people across the country.
Sharma claimed that his government has fulfilled 78 percent of its promises to the public over the past two and a half years. He expressed confidence in the party’s ‘Urban Development Manifesto’, which focuses on public welfare and the upliftment of the underprivileged. “We are committed to delivering on the promises made in this manifesto for youth, women, common citizens, and senior citizens,” he stated, anticipating even greater success in upcoming panchayat elections.
On the topic of the ‘One State, One Election’ pledge, Sharma criticized the Congress party, pointing out that local body and panchayat elections were held every two years during their tenure. He noted that the public has embraced the concept of simultaneous elections, recognizing that it paves the way for development and prevents wastage of public funds.
The municipal elections in Rajasthan were conducted in two phases. The first phase took place on September 9, covering 162 local bodies, including four municipal corporations and numerous councils and municipalities, with a voter turnout of 76.41 percent. The second phase occurred on September 11, involving six municipal corporations and a total of 147 local bodies, with a turnout of 71.69 percent. Overall, the voter participation across both phases reached 74.05 percent.
