Noida, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : A significant event took place in Noida on September 29, marking the 119th birth anniversary of martyr Bhagat Singh. The Youth Revolution Army, in collaboration with the Gauri Education Foundation, organized the “Shaurya Samarpan Program” at Maharaja Agrasen Bhawan in Sector 33. The ceremony paid tribute to Bhagat Singh and recognized young talents and social workers who have made notable contributions in various fields with the Youth Icon Awards 2026.
The event’s chief guests included Mukesh Sharma, president of the Gauri Education Foundation, Jagadguru Satishacharya Maharaj, and Justice Anil Yadav from Varanasi, who honored Bhagat Singh by laying floral wreaths at his portrait. Former minister Madan Chauhan and parliamentary representative Sanjay Bali also attended, paying their respects to the martyr.
Among the awardees in the social sector were Dr. Mahipal Singh, Vijender Goswami, Monu Chauhan, and Sonu Rana. The sports field was not overlooked, with accolades going to para-archers Pooja Kumari and Taniska, cyclists Pradeep Kumar, Reyansh Verma, Balram Singh Khani, and Kunal Yadav, as well as mountaineers Priya Kumari, Tiya Batra, and Poonam Yadav. Representatives from various social organizations in Noida participated, calling on the youth to draw inspiration from Bhagat Singh’s ideals and struggles.
Mukesh Sharma emphasized the importance of empowering children to dream big and stand on their own feet. He stated that every child should embody the courage and mindset of Bhagat Singh. He urged the community to create opportunities for local youth as a true homage to the martyr. Sharma highlighted that India, being one of the most populous countries, is rich in talent, and what is needed is to provide the right opportunities and platforms.
He also appealed to business leaders to support the dreams of young people. According to Sharma, it is crucial to provide encouragement and resources to elevate India’s position in international sports. Advisor Deepak Shankhdhar announced that the Youth Revolution Army and Gauri Education Foundation would soon advocate for naming the Sector 51 metro station after Bhagat Singh. They also plan to propose naming major roads in the city after martyrs, establishing statues in various locations, and incorporating the lives and thoughts of great revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh into school curricula.
The event featured cultural performances by students from B.S. Memorial Public School, captivating the audience with displays of patriotism that honored Bhagat Singh’s life, love for the country, and sacrifice. The program saw a large turnout of social workers, youth, athletes, and dignitaries, including Ranpal Awana, Deepak Shankhdhar, Avinash Singh, Lokesh Chauhan, Rajesh Ambavata, Satish Gupta, Arjun Prajapati, Ankur Sharma, Prashant Yadav, Babu Pradhan, Anup Chaturvedi, Ashish Sharma, and Bhavya Vaid.
