Indian Ambassador Bids Farewell to Nepals Prime Minister Balendra Shah

Kathmandu, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, met with Prime Minister Balendra Shah in Kathmandu on September 29 for a farewell meeting. Srivastava is set to return to India after completing his term.

During the morning meeting at the Prime Minister’s office, Shah presented Srivastava with a statue of Mahatma Buddha as a token of appreciation. This was their second meeting, following an earlier encounter on August 10. Various media outlets in Nepal highlighted the significance of this farewell.

According to RSS Nepal, during the meeting, Shah congratulated Srivastava on successfully completing his tenure and thanked him for his role in enhancing the diverse relations between Nepal and India. Shah also expressed gratitude for India’s support during recent disasters in Nepal, including flooding in Rasuwa.

Since taking office, Shah had initially opted for a collective approach to meetings with foreign ambassadors, stating he would not hold individual meetings. However, this arrangement was short-lived, and he later engaged in personal discussions with Srivastava. The farewell meeting marked their second personal interaction.

Srivastava has served as India’s Ambassador to Nepal since 2022. His tenure included discussions on various political, economic, and infrastructure-related issues between the two nations.
