Noida, June 12: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to visit Noida on Friday to inaugurate an e-bus service aimed at improving connectivity in Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Authority areas.
The launch will take place at Shilp Haat in Sector 33A. This initiative aims to modernize the bus fleet and enhance the public transport system in the National Capital Region (NCR) with an environmentally friendly approach.
Approximately 300 attendees are expected at the inauguration ceremony. Ten electric buses will be flagged off at the Shilp Haat complex, while additional buses will commence their routes from the bus depot in Sector 90.
In the first phase, each of the three authorities—Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority—will operate ten buses in their respective areas.
According to Vandana Tripathi, ACEC of Noida Authority, detailed route plans have been developed for the bus operations in all three areas. The fare structure is set at a minimum of 20 rupees and a maximum of 50 rupees, providing passengers with an affordable and convenient travel option.
The primary goal of the e-bus service is to improve connectivity between the upcoming Noida International Airport (Jewar), Noida, Greater Noida, and surrounding regions.
Several routes will extend to the airport, while other buses will connect key locations such as the Botanical Garden, Sector 62, Greater Noida West, Surajpur, and Pari Chowk. Additionally, connectivity will be provided to Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, and ISBT.
To link rural and urban areas within the Yamuna Authority region, several long-distance routes have also been planned.
As per the Noida Authority, the current plan includes operating 100 e-buses, with 50 designated for Noida and 25 each for Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority. Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved an additional 100 e-buses. By the end of the year, approximately 200 electric buses are expected to be operational, strengthening the public transport system.
