Celebrating 90 Years of the Long March: A Grand Tribute in Beijing

A grand TV gala in Beijing marks the 90th anniversary of the Long March, showcasing revolutionary songs and advanced AI technology.

Beijing, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : A spectacular television gala titled “A Tribute to the Long March” was broadcast across multiple platforms of China Media Group on the evening of October 22, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army’s historic Long March. The event left a profound impact on viewers.

The ceremony featured a curated collection of classic revolutionary songs, presented in a layered and progressive manner. Programs like “The Red Army Has Arrived” and “Grassland Diary” adopted a performance style that integrated drama with song and dance across various dimensions and locations, aiming to bring film music into the television celebration. This approach made music the central thread of the narrative, following the fates and historical ups and downs of characters while drawing the audience into the drama.

On stage, AI technology created a bridge between time and space, vividly recreating historical moments from the Long March. In a segment titled “Towards the Light,” actor Li Xuehen portrayed the leader of the Red Army’s cooking squad, walking from darkness into light with a burning oil lamp in hand.

Li Xuehen has faced challenges with his hearing and speech due to illness. During rehearsals, the directing team communicated entirely through text messages. His voice in the broadcast was generated using CMG’s AI digital technology, which underwent multiple rounds of debugging before its final completion.

This event not only commemorated a significant historical milestone but also showcased the innovative use of technology in storytelling.
