World Milk Day Celebrated with Warm Wishes from State Leaders

New Delhi, June 1: World Milk Day is being celebrated across the country today, June 1. On this occasion, Chief Ministers from various states, including Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand, Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh, and Bhajan Lal Sharma of Rajasthan, have extended heartfelt greetings to dairy producers, livestock farmers, and everyone involved in the dairy sector.

India is the largest milk producer in the world, and the sector continues to make significant progress. World Milk Day was initiated in 2001 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the nutritional importance of milk, the hard work of dairy farmers, and the role of the dairy industry. This year’s theme focuses on linking milk to healthy diets and sustainable development.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the dairy sector as the backbone of the rural economy. He stated, “On the occasion of World Milk Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all dairy producers and livestock farmers. Milk is not only a complete food but also a strong foundation for rural economy, self-reliance, and a healthy society. I salute the hardworking farmers, livestock keepers, and dairy operators who deliver this stream of nutrition, health, and prosperity to every home.”

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reiterated the commitment to make the state a leader in milk production. He remarked, “Warm wishes to all residents on ‘World Milk Day’! Our diligent livestock farmers have made Madhya Pradesh a leading state in milk production. Our government is continuously working towards cow protection, establishing cow shelters, and empowering the dairy sector. I am confident that our farmers and livestock keepers will soon make the state the ‘Milk Capital’.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma praised the hard work of livestock farmers. He emphasized that the government is committed to increasing milk production, enhancing farmers’ incomes, and protecting livestock.

The Rajasthan government officially released a message stating, “On the occasion of ‘World Milk Day’, heartfelt wishes to all livestock farmers and dairy business associates! The state government is continuously working to ensure that every citizen has access to pure and nutritious dairy products and to modernize the dairy sector. Start including milk in your diet today and take a step towards a healthy life.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated, “Warm wishes to everyone on World Milk Day. Milk is not only the foundation of our nutrition and health but also a vital means of empowering the rural economy and self-employment. Our government is continuously working to promote milk production in the state. Livestock farmers are being encouraged through various schemes, and every possible effort is being made to make the dairy business more profitable and self-reliant.”

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya emphasized the role of women. He wrote, “On the occasion of World Milk Day, heartfelt wishes to all livestock farmers, food providers, and the sisters working in self-help groups in dairy cooperatives! Today, India is the largest milk-producing country in the world, and Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a leading state in this sector… The increasing participation of self-help groups is empowering women economically and providing new strength to rural livelihoods.”

Bihar government minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also extended his greetings, stating that milk is the basis of health, nutrition, and prosperity. He pledged to honor all those working in milk production and to commit to building a nutritious society.
