New Delhi, August 12: Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has claimed to have achieved long-range strike capabilities, targeting significant Russian installations. The ministry announced that it has struck an oil refining facility located over 2,500 kilometers away in Siberia. This development signifies an expansion of Ukraine’s reach to strategic Russian sites.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated, “Ukraine’s long-range attack capability has reached a new milestone. Our defense forces have targeted another critical facility in Russia’s oil refining industry. This time, the attack was carried out in the city of Tobolsk, which is more than 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine.”
The ministry emphasized that, for the first time in history, Russia no longer has a completely secure strategic rear. Due to Ukraine’s increasingly effective long-range strike capabilities, more infrastructure supporting Russia’s war efforts is now within reach.
The ministry further indicated that it will continue to conduct deep and long-range attacks. The objective is clear: to make Russia understand that the cost of continuing the war is rising, and ultimately, peace is the only viable path forward.
Attacks continue from both sides in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. On Tuesday, Russia targeted Ukrainian military installations and drone control centers. The Russian Defense Ministry reported airstrikes in the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy.
According to the ministry, Russian aerospace forces conducted strikes on temporary locations of Ukrainian military units and drone control centers in conjunction with the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
The ministry also noted that during reconnaissance operations by Russian armed forces, temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian soldiers and a UAV control center were identified. Following this, Russian aerospace forces utilized FAB-250 aerial bombs and LMUR air-launched missiles to target these sites. The FAB-250 bombs were equipped with universal gliding and correction modules.
