Madison, April 14: Fresh off a 2-1 loss in the National Championship game against Denver, the Wisconsin Badgers men’s hockey team has been ranked No. 2 in the final USCHO poll for the 2025-26 season.
In total, four Big Ten teams made it into the Top 20, with Ohio State receiving the second-highest number of votes among non-ranked teams.
The Badgers finished with 914 points, just edging out Michigan, the former No. 1 seed, which lost leads of 2-1 and 3-2 to Denver in the Frozen Four.
Denver, now an impressive 11-time National Champion, received all 50 first-place votes, concluding the season at the top of the rankings.
Wisconsin’s rise from No. 12 to No. 2 is remarkable. Few anticipated the Badgers would reach the Frozen Four, let alone defeat North Dakota to advance to the National Championship game. For context, the Fighting Hawks fell from No. 2 to No. 4.
