Miami, April 15: The Dolphins recently signed Malik Willis as a free agent, signaling a shift in their quarterback strategy. They are also considering adding a rookie during next week’s draft.
On Tuesday, two potential candidates visited the team. According to Jordan Reid of ESPN.com, former Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels met with the Dolphins. Meanwhile, Barry Jackson from the Miami Herald reported that former Iowa starter Mark Gronowski was also in Miami for discussions.
Daniels, who has spent six years with the Jayhawks, recently visited the Patriots as well. Despite facing injuries during his tenure, he managed to start every game in his last two seasons. Over that period, he accumulated 4,985 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions, while also rushing for 843 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Gronowski, who started 55 games at South Dakota State before transferring to Iowa last year, completed 63.4% of his passes for 1,741 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He further contributed to the offense by rushing for 16 touchdowns as a Hawkeye.
