He noted that light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in northwestern India. Regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh may also experience rain. Heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for central, eastern, and northeastern states, with the possibility of hail in hilly areas.
In Ahmedabad, IMD Director Ashok Kumar Das mentioned that light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Gujarat until June 18. Rain is forecasted for Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli districts on June 16. From June 17-18, districts in South Gujarat, including Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, are likely to see rainfall. Meanwhile, the Saurashtra and Kutch regions are expected to remain dry for the next seven days, with cloudy skies and maximum temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius in Ahmedabad.

He noted that no significant changes in weather are expected in the next five to seven days, although sporadic rain and thunderstorms may occur. He advised the public to remain cautious during gusty winds.
As monsoon activity increases across the country, the weather department has urged the public to stay alert, especially in hilly regions and areas prone to heavy rainfall.
