Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan Visits Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu to Review Development Initiatives

Silvassa, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan is currently on an official visit to the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. This marks his first visit to the region since taking office. During his trip, he assessed various development projects related to education, health, and tourism, commending the administration’s efforts.

On social media platform X, Radhakrishnan shared details of his visit, stating, “Today, I visited the Ramsetu Seafront in Moti Daman and the Namopath Seafront in Devka.” He praised the initiatives aimed at transforming seafronts and urban areas into attractive destinations for both locals and tourists, highlighting the immense tourism potential in the Union Territory. The beaches of Daman are being developed with world-class facilities.

Earlier, he addressed a public event at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Government College in Silvassa, expressing his satisfaction with the ongoing reforms in education.

During his visit, the Vice President also toured the Namom Medical Education and Research Institute in Silvassa. He inspected the Anatomy Museum, Dissection Hall, Central Library, and Lecture Theatre, evaluating the institution’s facilities and educational infrastructure. He noted that such institutions would enable local students to pursue medical education without needing to go outside the region.

Radhakrishnan engaged with students at Swami Vivekananda Vidya Mandir in Silvassa, appreciating the institution’s role in providing modern education and empowering youth. He remarked that the increasing enrollment in government schools, compared to private institutions, indicates growing public trust in the quality of education offered by government entities.

Additionally, he visited the newly inaugurated Namom Hospital in Silvassa, where he reviewed facilities such as the registration department, pharmacy, wards, ICU, and operation theatre. He distributed fruit baskets to patients and interacted with students, paying tribute to Acharya Sushruta by laying flowers at his statue. While addressing the students, the Vice President encouraged them to “set goals, progress at their own pace, avoid comparisons with others, and never give up.”
