Jaipur, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : The second phase of Rajasthan’s urban local body elections concluded on September 9, with a voter turnout of 70.68% across 147 urban bodies. This phase included six municipal corporations, 20 municipalities, and 121 municipal councils, with a total of 4,774 polling stations established for voters.
According to the election department, out of 8,763,595 eligible voters, 6,193,865 cast their ballots. The highest turnout was recorded in Dhori Manna of Barmer district at 91.59%, while the lowest was in Sirohi at 62.03%.
This second phase followed the first phase of voting on September 9, where 162 urban bodies participated, achieving a turnout of 74.76%. Overall, the state saw a combined voter turnout of 72.95% across all 309 urban bodies.
The election department implemented extensive measures to ensure a peaceful and orderly voting process, establishing a sufficient number of polling stations throughout the regions.
In comparison, the previous urban local body elections saw a turnout of 70.31%. With the conclusion of the second phase, the voting process for the 2026 urban local body elections has been completed. Results will be announced on September 14 following the counting of votes.
