New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Recent developments indicate a warming of relations between India and China. On September 11, 2026, China’s Ambassador to India, Shuo Feihong, announced preparations for a bilateral meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on the social media platform X, Shuo stated, “China and India are preparing for a bilateral meeting between President Xi and Prime Minister Modi. Following meetings in Kazan and Tianjin, this will mark the third consecutive year that both leaders meet.”
Shuo emphasized that China aims to work closely with India to implement the strategic directives of both leaders. This includes viewing bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, enhancing dialogue and cooperation, resolving differences appropriately, and fostering a friendship that supports good neighborliness and mutual success.
Over the past two years, there have been notable improvements in the relationship between the two leaders. Meaningful discussions occurred during the BRICS summit in Kazan in 2024 and the SCO summit in Tianjin in 2025. This upcoming meeting is expected to further strengthen trust between the two nations.
In a prior post, the Chinese ambassador also made significant remarks regarding BRICS. He stated, “China values BRICS cooperation and supports India in hosting a successful BRICS summit this year.”
Experts believe that India’s upcoming hosting of the BRICS summit is crucial, and China’s support holds significant diplomatic weight.
