New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video on the social media platform ‘X’ on September 11, showcasing significant activities from the BRICS Summit held in New Delhi. The video captures his meetings with various world leaders throughout the day.
In his post, Modi noted, “Business forums, bilateral meetings, and much more… all these activities took place today at Bharat Mandapam.” The footage features him in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Modi is also seen touring the Innoprom India exhibition.
During his address, Modi emphasized that this BRICS Business Forum is the largest ever held. He remarked that at a time when trade barriers are rising globally, India is working to build economic bridges.
On the same day, Modi met with Guterres, where they stressed the importance of a multipolar world order and the need for reforms in multilateral institutions like the UN Security Council to address contemporary global challenges.
The discussions covered a range of topics, including global conflicts, freedom of maritime routes, sustainable development, human-centered artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and global food security. Modi also extended his best wishes to Guterres for the remainder of his term.
In a subsequent meeting with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the two leaders reviewed various aspects of bilateral relations. This was their second meeting in two weeks. Modi praised Iran’s active participation in BRICS-related events and noted the potential of BRICS to enhance cooperation, innovation, and stability among countries of the Global South.
They also discussed the latest developments in West Asia. Modi reiterated that all disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing the need for lasting peace, security of maritime trade, and the safety of sailors in the region.
Modi’s meeting with President Putin marked their second encounter this year. They reviewed progress in cooperation across political, economic, defense, energy, space, skill development, and people-to-people contact. The leaders jointly visited the Innoprom India international industrial exhibition, deeming it a significant step toward strengthening trade and industrial cooperation between their nations.
The discussions also touched on various regional and global issues, including the situation in West Asia and the Black Sea region. Modi reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy are the most effective paths to resolve conflicts, and he expressed India’s readiness to contribute to peace efforts.
President Putin invited Modi to attend the 24th India-Russia Annual Summit, which the Prime Minister accepted.
