Gandhinagar, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : The Gujarat Assembly’s three-day monsoon session wrapped up on September 11, 2026, after 18 hours and 32 minutes of proceedings. During this time, the Assembly passed seven government bills focused on state development and public welfare.
Following the session, government spokesperson Minister Jitu Vaghani stated that the proceedings were conducted in a peaceful environment, adhering to democratic traditions. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, and both the ruling and opposition members for their contributions, along with the administrative staff.
Throughout the session, the Assembly held three meetings, during which 52 legislators participated in various discussions. Vaghani noted that the seven bills were passed within two days, aimed at advancing the state’s growth and public interest initiatives.
On the final day, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel addressed the Assembly on a matter of public importance under Rule 44. A special discussion on the “Tribal Welfare Scheme” was also held under Rule 102, while another minister provided a statement on a public interest issue under Rule 116.
The Assembly paid tribute to five deceased leaders, presenting condolence motions in their honor. During the question hour, a total of 1,356 starred questions were received, with 29 discussed orally in the house. Additionally, 152 unstarred questions were submitted, and 88 unstarred questions were presented under Rule 87(A).
Five reports from various committees were introduced during the proceedings, alongside 23 reports related to government companies, boards, and corporations, as well as one budget report. Vaghani also mentioned that 69 notifications, two ordinances, and one assurance report were presented to the Assembly. Furthermore, the audit report on the Jal Jeevan Mission was shared with the members.
One bill that had already received presidential approval was tabled, along with five other bills that had the governor’s consent. The proceedings attracted significant public interest, with approximately 5,246 citizens visiting the Assembly to observe the democratic process in action.
