Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan Arrives in Kerala to Warm Welcome

Kochi, May 31: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Kerala on Sunday. He was warmly welcomed at Cochin International Airport by Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan.

Prior to his visit to Kerala, the Vice President was in Karnataka, where he visited the renowned Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Temple for prayers. He also inaugurated the Siri Matrushree Industrial Park in Belthangady, Karnataka.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Vice President emphasized that the dream of a prosperous rural India can be realized through institutions like Siri. He noted that this organization has empowered thousands of women and rural families through livelihood creation and entrepreneurship.

He praised Siri’s efforts to enhance employment and self-employment opportunities in rural areas, stating that such models can inspire other parts of the country.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Rajya Sabha MP and Siri Chairman Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Lok Sabha MP Brijesh Chouta, and Siri founder Hemavati V. Heggade.

The Vice President will inaugurate a ceremony in Kottayam, Kerala, and will also participate in a private event organized by Rajya Sabha MP C. Sadanand Master in Kannur.

This visit marks the final day of his three-day tour, which included Goa, Karnataka, and Delhi. In Goa, he inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to the life and works of renowned cartoonist Mario Miranda at the Art Academy in Panaji. He also released a commemorative postage stamp and a special cover in his honor, along with unveiling a coffee table book titled “Goa Engineering: The Next Era.”

Additionally, the Vice President presented awards to distinguished individuals and brands from Goa, distributed appointment letters, honored winners under the Gopal Ratna Award Scheme, and launched enhanced insurance coverage under the Deen Dayal Health Care Scheme.
