Jaipur, 7 December 2025: Vedanta Limited, a global leader in Critical Minerals, Energy Transition Metals, Oil & Gas, Power, and Technology, organised the second edition of the Jaigarh Heritage Festival at the iconic Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur. Held on 6 and 7 December with the support of Jaipur royal family member Sawai Padmanabh Singh, this two-day festival celebrated Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary creativity through music, crafts, folk traditions, and diverse experiences.
The festival showcased the heritage skills of artists, craftsmen, and creative communities supported by Vedanta. Visitors enjoyed enchanting performances by folk artists including Khadtal, Manganiyar, and Langa, alongside traditional embroidery and patchwork crafts. The Uthori street play effectively highlighted contemporary social issues. The Sakhi Microenterprises and Gigi Bai self-help groups, linked to Vedanta’s skill development and livelihood initiatives, displayed sustainable craftsmanship and traditions. On the first day, singer and composer Papon performed live, preceded by the Sakhi ramp walk featuring the Upaya winter collection, which highlighted attractive Ajrakh block prints and winter colours.
Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director of Vedanta Limited and Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Limited, said Rajasthan has always been home to Vedanta and its culture inspires the company. She emphasised that preserving heritage is as important as building the future. The Jaigarh Heritage Festival embodies this spirit by keeping traditions alive through craft, music, and storytelling.
For over two decades, Rajasthan has been central to Vedanta’s growth journey. The company has invested more than ₹1 lakh crore in the state, fostering industrial development in resource-rich districts. Hindustan Zinc Limited is one of the world’s largest integrated zinc producers and a leading silver producer, while Cairn Oil & Gas supplies nearly 25 percent of the country’s domestic crude oil. These units have contributed to the industrial growth of regions like Barmer and Chittorgarh, creating over 100,000 employment opportunities.
This year, Vedanta introduced an immersive gaming experience, ‘Kaun Banega Metal, Head?’ for the first time. Using AR–VR technology, visitors were given a virtual tour of Vedanta and Hindustan Zinc’s underground mines. The experience highlighted how zinc, silver, oil & gas, aluminium, and copper support modern life, renewable energy, healthcare, electronics, mobility, and aviation.
Vedanta also plays a leading role in social development. The company has established over 7,000 modern anganwadis (Nand Ghar) across 30 districts of Rajasthan. It has invested more than ₹2,500 crore in community development. Under women empowerment initiatives, Vedanta pioneered the country’s first female underground mining engineer and a women’s mine rescue team. Through community enterprises like Sakhi and Gigi Bai, women artisans have been empowered towards financial independence.
Besides the Jaigarh Heritage Festival, Vedanta is a key partner in prestigious events such as the Jaipur Literature Festival, Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon, Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon (Udaipur), and Vedanta Udaipur Music Festival. By bringing heritage, community, and innovation together, Vedanta continues to strengthen its vision of establishing Rajasthan as India’s cultural capital and an economic powerhouse.
