New Delhi, April 4: The Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi’s Outer North district has successfully apprehended a wanted criminal linked to the notorious Sonu Dariyapur gang. This operation took place near Jeet Farm on Narela-Alipur Road, based on police vigilance and intelligence information.
The arrested individual has been identified as Aryan, son of Satish Kumar, a 22-year-old resident of Prahladpur Bangar, Delhi.
According to a press release from the police, Aryan had been on the run since March 19, 2026, following a shooting incident in the Sultanpuri area. He had been actively evading arrest. On March 30, the AATS received a tip-off indicating that an active member of the Sonu Dariyapur gang was hiding in the area. Subsequently, a special team was formed under Inspector Anand Kumar Jha, including Sub-Inspector Dimpy Gulia, Head Constable Asharam, and Constable Sachin. The operation was overseen by the ACP Operations and DCP Outer North, with overall leadership from Joint Police Commissioner Vijay Singh.
The team tracked Aryan’s location using both technical and human intelligence, successfully cornering him near Jeet Farm. During the search, police recovered a .32 caliber pistol and two live cartridges from his possession. He was subsequently arrested under the Arms Act at the Narela Industrial Area police station.
Investigations revealed that Aryan had previously been involved in two cases related to the Arms Act. During questioning, he disclosed that he had recently fired at members of the Arun Delhi gang in the Sultanpuri area. Other suspects in this case have already been arrested, while Aryan had been attempting to evade law enforcement. He also mentioned plans to acquire more weapons to continue his criminal activities and recruit young individuals into the gang.
The police’s operation resulted in the seizure of a sophisticated pistol and two live cartridges, which played a crucial role in preventing a potential major crime. This success for the Outer North district police underscores their commitment to combating organized crime through intelligence, vigilant monitoring, and professional dedication. Police officials assert that such operations will deter criminals and are a significant step toward making Delhi safer.
