Lucknow, August 26: Minister Jai Veer Singh of the Uttar Pradesh government has commended the recent decisions made for the welfare of women, the elderly, and youth in the state. He highlighted three significant initiatives aimed at improving women’s welfare, along with scholarship-related decisions for the youth.
Speaking to reporters in Lucknow on Wednesday, Minister Singh stated, “Three major decisions have been made for women’s welfare. The first decision allows women to travel for free on Uttar Pradesh transport from one day before to one day after Raksha Bandhan.”
He further explained that all ministers and dignitaries will visit various districts to participate in large events. A significant number of women are expected to attend these gatherings. Each woman will receive a saree and sweets from the Chief Minister, and they will tie rakhi during the event. Programs will be organized in every district of the state today.
Minister Singh also mentioned a second decision aimed at the welfare of elderly women. Women aged 60 and above will be able to travel for free at all times, based on their ID cards. He added that the third decision states that if elderly parents in a family are not provided food, shelter, or are mistreated, their children may be deprived of their ancestral property upon receiving a complaint.
Additionally, Minister Singh noted, “Until now, the internship stipend was ₹12,000, which has been increased to over double, now set at ₹25,000 per month.” Several important decisions for youth welfare were made during Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, including various scholarship-related initiatives.
