WHO Chief Wishes PM Modi a Happy Birthday, Thanks for Prioritizing Health at BRICS Summit

Geneva, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus extended warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday. In a post on social media platform X, Ghebreyesus wrote, “Happy Birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Wishing you many more years of success. Thank you for hosting a successful BRICS Leaders’ Summit and for prioritizing health on the agenda, as well as for securing strong commitments from BRICS leaders towards ‘Health for All’ and global health security.”

Former President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, also sent heartfelt birthday greetings to Modi. He remarked on X, “Happy Birthday to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Your leadership has been central to the enduring friendship between Maldives and India. I wish you good health, happiness, and continued success in the coming year.”

In Sri Lanka, members of the clergy led by Ven. Banagala Upatissa Nayaka Thero, President of the Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society, offered their congratulations to Modi. The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka shared on X that during a ceremony at the Mahabodhi Society in Colombo, held to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Anagarika Dharmapala, the clergy blessed Prime Minister Modi on his special day.

Numerous leaders from around the world conveyed their best wishes to Modi on his birthday, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu credited Modi for India’s growing global role, stating on X, “Happy Birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Your leadership has transformed India into a world power. Together, we have forged a partnership between two great democracies that has never been seen before. The friendship between Israel and India has never been stronger, and together we will reach even greater heights. I wish you many more years of leadership, health, and satisfaction.”

Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also shared his wishes on X, saying, “On behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, I extend heartfelt birthday wishes to Prime Minister Modi. May the coming year bring you good health and continuous strength in serving the people of India.”
