New Delhi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Indigo Airlines has announced a revision of fees for several services on its domestic flights, impacting travelers significantly. Under the new fee structure, passengers will face increased charges for infant travel, excess baggage, unaccompanied minors, priority services, and travel certificates.
For infants traveling with an adult, the fee has risen from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000. This charge applies to infants aged up to two years who are traveling for more than three days. According to Indigo’s regulations, infants will not have a separate seat and must sit on the lap of the accompanying adult. Only one infant is allowed per adult passenger. The fee for infants must be paid at the time of booking, and valid age proof may be requested during travel.
Additionally, the airline has raised its excess baggage fees. Passengers carrying luggage beyond the permitted limit will now pay ₹800 per kilogram, up from the previous rate of ₹700. This change means that travelers will incur an extra ₹100 for each kilogram over the designated baggage allowance.
The fee for the special service offered to unaccompanied minors has also increased, from ₹5,000 to ₹5,999. This service caters to children traveling without an adult and is subject to the airline’s eligibility and travel regulations.
Changes have also been made to the costs of priority check-in and boarding services. The combined fee for these services has been raised from ₹450 to ₹650, meaning travelers opting for this convenience will pay an additional ₹200.
Moreover, the charge for issuing travel certificates has increased from ₹200 to ₹300.
While these changes raise the costs for various optional and travel-related services for Indigo’s domestic passengers, the base fare for flights remains unchanged.
