New Delhi, August 26: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the BJP government in Delhi is set to fulfill another promise. On Wednesday, the ‘Delhi Laxmi Scheme’ will be launched, aimed at supporting women in the capital. Prior to the launch, CM Rekha stated, “What was promised is being delivered.”
This morning, CM Rekha Gupta announced the inauguration of the Laxmi Scheme on the social media platform X. She wrote in her post, “What was promised is being delivered. The promise of ₹2,500 is fulfilled.”
During a special event at Talkatora Stadium, the Chief Minister will distribute official letters to approximately 4,000 women beneficiaries under the scheme. Each eligible woman will receive ₹2,500 per month directly into their accounts.
On August 23, in a message on X, the Chief Minister explained the purpose of the Delhi Laxmi Scheme. She stated, “The aim is to enhance economic stability, boost confidence, and promote independence in everyday life. The overwhelming enthusiasm among women across Delhi shows how deeply this initiative resonates with their hopes. Their trust is our blessing and the greatest motivation for our work.”
According to statistics, 652,000 women have submitted their final applications to receive the monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500. The official website has recorded 913,000 registrations from women at various stages of document submission.
It is noteworthy that the BJP had announced the financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month for women before coming to power. After a 27-year gap, the BJP government was formed in Delhi in 2025. Now, after approximately a year and a half, the government is launching this significant scheme.
