Uttar Pradesh Celebrates Environment Day with Tree Plantation Drive and Student Recognition

Lucknow, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection by launching a massive tree plantation campaign, aiming to plant 50 million saplings in a single day.

During the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored winners of a logo design and painting competition, bringing smiles to the faces of students and village heads. The students expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and also wished him a happy birthday.

In the logo design competition, seventh-grade student Mahi Raza from Lalitpur secured the first position and received a check for ₹50,000 from the Chief Minister. Fifth-grade student Sumbul Fatima from Kannauj won the second prize, receiving ₹25,000. She expressed her joy at being honored by the Chief Minister, thanking him for the recognition.

Tenth-grade student Shraddha Tripathi from Mirzapur was awarded third place in the same competition. She shared her excitement about meeting the Chief Minister and receiving her award.

Winners of the painting competition were also recognized. Ajay Kumar Dubey received ₹25,000 for first place, Srishti Shukla was awarded ₹15,000 for second place, and Sudhakar received ₹10,000 for third place.

Srishti Shukla, who hails from Lakhimpur Kheri, mentioned that she studied at Shakuntala University and was thrilled to win second place in the competition, extending her birthday wishes to the Chief Minister.

Village heads who contributed to wetland notifications were also honored. Rajkishore Verma, a village head from Barabanki, expressed gratitude for the recognition he received for declaring a wetland lake.

The honored village heads shared their positive experiences at the event and wished Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath a long life, hoping he continues to work for the public good.

In total, six village heads were recognized, including Rajkishore Verma from Barabanki, Mantu Singh from Chitrakoot, Mansharam from Ayodhya, Sushil Kumar Singh from Barabanki, Harendra Singh from Farrukhabad, and Anita Devi from Chandauli.
