Piyush Goyal Plants Tree in Tirumala, Advocates Collective Responsibility for Environmental Protection

Tirumala, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal planted a tree in the hills of Tirumala as part of the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign. He emphasized the collective responsibility of protecting the environment.

Goyal shared on the social media platform X that he reaffirmed his commitment to nature conservation by planting a tree in the serene and natural landscapes of Tirumala. He stated that India’s culture is rooted in respect for mothers, the motherland, and nature. Protecting the environment is a shared duty for all of us.

He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Mission Life’ and urged people to plant and care for more trees. He noted that this public participation campaign will play a crucial role in building a green, clean, and strong India for future generations.

On World Environment Day, Goyal also visited the Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) temple in Tirupati. He mentioned that, as in previous years, he came to seek blessings from Lord Balaji around his birthday in early June.

In a conversation with the media, the Union Minister remarked, “Lord Balaji inspires us all to work for the service of the nation and the bright future of our citizens. I prayed for his blessings to remain upon everyone associated with the temple, Tirupati town, Andhra Pradesh, and all of India.”

He expressed that planting a tree under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Modi was a special and emotional experience for him.

Goyal stated, “It is a divine blessing for me to have the opportunity to plant a tree in the sacred hills of Tirumala in the name of my mother. I believe that this campaign will raise awareness about environmental protection and greenery across the country.”

He encouraged children to plant a tree in their mother’s name and care for it throughout their lives, just as they respect and protect their mothers.

The Union Minister called upon people to make environmental protection a public movement and to pledge to safeguard nature through increased tree planting.
