Jharkhand Celebrates World Environment Day with BJPs One Tree in Mothers Name Campaign

Ranchi, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign across Jharkhand on Thursday. This initiative saw tree plantation programs organized in all districts, with participation from party leaders and grassroots workers alike.

BJP state president Aditya Sahu planted trees at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Kuchhu Mandal, located in the Ormanjhi block of Ranchi East district. Meanwhile, opposition leader Babulal Marandi took part in the campaign by planting trees at the Rock Garden in the Gonda Mandal of Ranchi city. Organizational secretary Karmveer Singh participated in a program held in the Harmu Mandal. Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda planted trees in the Khunti and Ranchi rural areas, while Raghubar Das did so in Jagannathpur. BJP leader Champai Soren planted trees in the Gamharia area of Saraikela-Kharsawan district, and former Chief Minister Madhu Koda did the same in Jagannathpur of West Singhbhum.

Central Minister Annapurna Devi, MP Sanjay Seth, former state president Deepak Prakash, Abhaykant Prasad, Ravindra Rai, and Yadunath Pandey, among other senior party leaders, also planted saplings at various locations. MPs, MLAs, district officials, and grassroots workers of the party actively participated in the campaign.

On this occasion, state president Aditya Sahu emphasized that participating in this environmental protection campaign offers an opportunity to contribute to a green, clean, and prosperous India. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, continuous efforts are being made to transform environmental protection, green development, and sustainable lifestyles into a people’s movement. He urged citizens to plant a tree in their mother’s name to commit to creating a clean and healthy environment.

Opposition leader Babulal Marandi remarked that a clean environment, pure air, and a green future are the greatest legacies for future generations. He stressed that environmental protection is not just the responsibility of the government or organizations, but a shared duty of every citizen. He appealed to people to pledge to plant at least one tree and protect it.

BJP’s state organizational secretary Karmveer Singh stated that the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign is a powerful means to express responsibility towards nature and respect for mothers. He added that this initiative, started at the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has now evolved into a people’s movement.
