Two Killed in Araria Dispute Over Vehicle Parking

Araria, April 9: A tragic incident unfolded in Farbisganj, Araria district, where two individuals lost their lives over a minor dispute. Reports indicate that a vendor selling sattu fatally attacked a driver with a sharp weapon during an argument over parking. Following the attack, an enraged mob took matters into their own hands and beat the accused to death.

According to police officials, both victims have been identified. The accused vendor, Ravi Chauhan, was known for selling sattu near the agricultural produce market committee, while the deceased driver, Nabi Hussain, hailed from the Amouna area of Jogbani Municipal Council.

On the day of the incident, Nabi Hussain had arrived at the vegetable market with a pickup truck loaded with produce. A dispute arose regarding parking, during which Ravi Chauhan allegedly struck Hussain with a sharp weapon, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.

After the attack, the vendor fled the scene. However, a large crowd quickly gathered and began searching for him. Reports suggest that the accused was found hiding in a bush and was severely beaten by the mob, leading to his death from the injuries sustained.

Following the incident, police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The area remains tense in the aftermath of the violence.

SDPO Mukesh Kumar Saha confirmed that both bodies have been taken into custody for post-mortem examinations. Authorities are also working to identify individuals involved in the mob violence against the vendor, and legal action will be pursued against them as well.
