Jaipur, April 14: The Jhalawar police have launched a significant operation under ‘Operation Divya Prahar 2.0’, successfully freezing assets worth approximately ₹5.5 crore belonging to wanted drug trafficker Bablu Tanwar and his associates.
Bablu Tanwar, a resident of Palkhanda in the Ghatoli police station area, is currently on the run, with a reward announced for his capture.
According to ASP Bhagchand Meena, this initiative began in January 2026 with the aim of striking a decisive blow against the drug network. The focus of this operation is not only to apprehend traffickers but also to eliminate financial assets generated from illegal drug trade, which are often used to maintain influence and power.
Over the past three months, the police have prepared a comprehensive proposal under the NDPS Act targeting Bablu Tanwar, who resides in Palkhanda (Post Sarkhandia, Ghatoli Police Station, Tehsil Aklera, District Jhalawar). Following approval from competent authorities, orders were issued to permanently freeze his residential properties, agricultural land, and vehicles.
Officials confirmed that similar actions had been initiated against him previously. A confidential database of Tanwar’s movable and immovable assets was compiled by the MOB (Methodology Bureau) branch of the SP office. This intelligence was shared with the SHO of Ghatoli police station, forming the basis for further action.
Acting on this data, the police swiftly identified and froze assets linked to illegal earnings. Under the directives of District Collector Ajay Singh Rathore, revenue and PWD officials assisted in verifying property records and assessing market values. Their report facilitated the acceleration of legal proceedings. Following proper procedures under the NDPS Act, the SHO of Ghatoli obtained formal approval to freeze the assets.
Bablu Tanwar and his associates are now prohibited from selling or using these assets. Meanwhile, police teams continue their efforts to locate and apprehend the fugitive.
