Kozhikode, April 14: A shocking turn of events has emerged in the murder case of a 16-year-old girl in Kozhikode, Kerala. Police suspect that the crime was motivated by revenge. The accused, Adnan, has also died under mysterious circumstances.
The incident, which occurred near East Muzhikkal on Tuesday morning, has left the community in disbelief. The brutality of the act and the circumstances surrounding it have astonished investigators and local residents alike.
Initial investigations reveal that Nasrina was strangled with a shawl in her bedroom on the upper floor of her home. At the time, her mother, grandmother, sister, and brother were present but unaware of the unfolding tragedy.
Authorities have also learned that Adnan attempted to strangle the girl’s grandmother during the attack. A resident of Kulathur, Adnan was related to the victim. Following the incident, he was found dead in another room under suspicious conditions.
Initially, the family locked him in a room and rushed Nasrina to the hospital. However, upon their return, they reportedly found him dead with tape wrapped around his face, complicating the case further.
Investigators believe that Adnan entered the house around midnight using a duplicate key. He had previously lived with the family but was evicted six months ago due to suspicions of theft. Neighbors and relatives suggest that a feud over missing money and Nasrina’s strong opposition to his behavior may have led to deep-seated animosity between them.
It is suspected that in a fit of rage, Adnan carried out the attack while the family was asleep. After killing Nasrina, he is believed to have taken his own life in the house. The family discovered the tragedy around 5 AM. Police have taken both bodies to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Authorities have collected CCTV footage from the house and are investigating how Adnan, who lived about 15 kilometers away, managed to reach the location unnoticed. Statements from relatives are being recorded to piece together the sequence of events.
