Deadly Attack at Toll Plaza in Pune District; Four Arrested

Pune, April 14: A deadly attack occurred on Tuesday at a toll plaza in the Yavat police station area of Pune district, Maharashtra. Police have arrested four suspects in connection with this incident. A case has been registered under various sections of the BNS at the Yavat police station, Pune Rural.

The complaint was filed by Rahul Pandurang Khomane, a 30-year-old resident of Patas in the Daund tehsil of Pune district. A total of six individuals have been named in the complaint, including Ramesh Shegar, Prasad Meragal, Shubham Marne, Abhishek Chougule, Shahrukh Sheikh, and Jeevan Gaikwad.

The incident took place around 5:15 PM at the Patas toll plaza, where the complainant was working as a toll collector. During the incident, the accused arrived in a Maruti Suzuki Swift car and began vandalizing the toll booth. They also assaulted the victim.

The victim reported that during the assault, Prasad Meragal attempted to strike him on the head with a metal weapon. However, he managed to block the attack with his hand, resulting in an injury to his right thumb and severe wounds to his hand.

The complainant sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. A case has been registered at the local police station.

Meanwhile, the investigation is being conducted by a police sub-inspector. Thanks to the swift action of the police, four out of the six suspects have been apprehended and have been remanded to police custody for three days. The investigation is ongoing.
