Ambikapur, June 16: TS Singh Deo, a prominent Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, has made a statement regarding the leadership of the India Block. He emphasized that the decision on who will lead the coalition should not rest with a single individual or party. Instead, it should be a collective decision made by all the allied parties within the India Block.
In his remarks to a news agency, Singh Deo praised Rahul Gandhi’s approach, noting that he has never sought leadership roles or positions for himself. Rahul Gandhi consistently adheres to democratic values and often refrains from stepping forward in situations where he is expected to take the initiative.
Singh Deo pointed out that this issue transcends mere positions; it is a significant matter tied to the political future of the country and the entire system. Therefore, the decision regarding leadership—whether it be for Rahul Gandhi, Congress, or any other leader—should be made collectively by all component parties of the coalition.
Additionally, Singh Deo responded to the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) concerning the Ram Janmabhoomi donation case. He described this issue as extremely sensitive and a cause for concern. He stated that the Supreme Court‘s decision regarding matters related to Lord Ram was based on the faith of millions. If any corruption or irregularities are uncovered, it would directly hurt the sentiments and beliefs of countless devotees across the nation.
He recalled previous controversies, such as those surrounding the Tirupati laddu and the ghee used in its preparation. Singh Deo stressed that any tampering with people’s religious sentiments and faith in such matters should be strictly avoided.
He further noted that the Supreme Court had previously taken cognizance of the Ayodhya case and delivered a historic ruling.
