This marks the first conversation between PM Modi and President Trump following a temporary ceasefire. It is also their second discussion in twenty days, with the previous call occurring on March 24, where both leaders addressed the conditions in the Middle East. PM Modi expressed India’s desire for de-escalation and a swift return to peace.
He highlighted the critical importance of maintaining an open and secure Strait of Hormuz, given its impact on the global economy.
