Trump Questions UK Energy Policies Amid Europes Crisis, Urges Increased Oil Production

New Delhi, April 14: U.S. President Donald Trump has made sharp comments regarding energy policy and the situation in Europe. He advised the United Kingdom to boost oil production and focus on traditional energy sources.

Trump raised concerns about the UK’s North Sea oil policy, stating that despite a significant energy demand, the UK is not increasing oil and gas extraction, while Norway profits immensely from this resource.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump remarked, “Europe is in dire need of energy, yet the United Kingdom refuses to open up the ‘North Sea Oil,’ one of the largest oil fields in the world. It’s very unfortunate. Aberdeen should be experiencing a boom right now. Norway is selling its ‘North Sea Oil’ to the UK at double the price, making substantial profits. The UK, which is in a better position than Norway regarding energy in the ‘North Sea,’ should be extracting more oil! It’s absolutely insane that they are not doing this… and no more windmills.”

Meanwhile, Trump discussed the global energy crisis with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to the conflict in West Asia. This phone conversation covered the situation in West Asia and the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure. This was the first conversation between Modi and Trump following a temporary ceasefire.

Prime Minister Modi posted on the social media platform X, stating, “My friend, President Donald Trump called. We reviewed the significant progress made in our bilateral cooperation across various sectors. We are committed to further strengthening our ‘comprehensive global strategic partnership’ in all areas. We also discussed the situation in West Asia and emphasized the importance of keeping the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ open and secure.”

Additionally, French President Emmanuel Macron claimed on social media that he spoke with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pajehshkian and U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the current situation.

On the platform X, he called for restraint from both sides and urged for the resumption of unproductive talks in Islamabad, to clear misunderstandings and avoid any provocations.
