Washington, February 22: President Donald Trump addressed guests at a dinner held at the White House, announcing significant changes underway in the nation. He revealed plans for a new ballroom at the White House, expressing confidence in the upcoming 250th anniversary celebrations of the United States.
Speaking to governors, cabinet members, and other attendees alongside First Lady Melania Trump, the President remarked that the past year has been marked by rapid historical changes for the country.
“We have tackled tough issues. It has been an incredible first year for all of us,” Trump stated. He emphasized, “Our borders are secure, homicides are at a 125-year low, and inflation is at its lowest in five years.” He added, “Our military is stronger than ever before.”
During his address, Trump also highlighted the market’s gains, noting, “We have touched 50,000 on the Dow and 7,000 on the S&P.”
Regarding infrastructure at the White House, Trump announced, “We are building a ballroom. For 150 years, they have wanted a ballroom, and we are going to create the largest ballroom in the world, and you are witnessing it.”
He described the ballroom as “the most beautiful ballroom in the world,” framing the project as a diplomatic upgrade. Trump noted, “When a major event occurred, like when the President of China visited, they would set up a tent on the lawn.”
Looking at the lower part of the lawn, he remarked, “If it rained, you would be in big trouble. It would be quite embarrassing to sit with the King of Saudi Arabia while he is sitting in a puddle with four inches of water on his shoes.”
Trump emphasized that the ballroom will be privately funded. “We have done this without charging taxpayers. Not a single penny of tax money will be donated to this project,” he asserted.
The President linked the evening’s theme to the upcoming national milestone, stating, “We are going to make our 250th year the biggest in our country’s history.” He also referenced the World Cup and the Summer Olympics, which he described as “some incredible years.”
Additionally, Trump praised Vice President JD Vance for his executive responsibilities, saying, “You have to act according to those decisions, and you must face the consequences or reap the benefits of those decisions.”
