Tripura: CISF Personnel Receive Drone Security Training at Agartala Airport

Agartala, June 12: In the capital of Tripura, Agartala, a specialized training program was conducted for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport. The Assam Rifles organized this initiative to enhance awareness and skills in drone operations and to address emerging aerial threats. The training focused on identifying drones, monitoring their activities, and employing modern techniques to counter potential risks.

According to a defense spokesperson, the primary aim of this training was to familiarize CISF personnel with current security challenges. It prepared them to detect drone-related threats promptly, respond swiftly, and coordinate effectively.

During the program, discussions included drone identification, monitoring techniques, neutralization methods, safe interception processes, legal provisions related to drone operations, and security measures for critical installations like airports.

The training emphasized the need for improved coordination among the Assam Rifles, CISF, Airport Authority, and other relevant agencies. Officials stated that collaboration and vigilance among all agencies are crucial for ensuring national security.

The defense spokesperson noted that senior officials and CISF personnel praised this initiative, considering it a significant step towards strengthening security preparedness.

Previously, the Assam Rifles had also collaborated with CISF to conduct a multi-agency security exercise at MBB Airport. This joint exercise aimed to enhance coordination among various security agencies and strengthen their operational capabilities for securing critical installations.

During the exercise, experts from the Assam Rifles demonstrated security drills, emergency response systems, and joint action strategies. Personnel from different agencies improved their readiness to tackle potential security challenges through this collaborative practice.

According to defense officials, given the increasing use of drones in civilian and security sectors, such training programs are essential. CISF personnel were informed about various types of drones, their capabilities, associated security risks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for addressing drone-related incidents.

Recently, the Assam Rifles also conducted a two-day drone exercise at the drone training node in Jaluki, Peren district of Nagaland, under the Indian Army’s Spear Corps. This initiative aimed to enhance surveillance capabilities, develop technical proficiency, and strengthen coordination among various security agencies.

Officials believe that such joint training programs play a vital role in enhancing the operational efficiency of security forces and reinforcing the security of critical installations.
