New Developments in Bhagwant Mann Video Controversy: Two Arrested in Gurugram for Fake Forensic Report

Gurugram, June 23: A new twist has emerged in the controversial video case involving Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Gurugram police have initiated an investigation into a forensic report allegedly fabricated to disprove the authenticity of the video. An FIR has been filed, and two suspects have been taken into custody.

The case is linked to the Sector-29 police station area in Gurugram. According to police sources, this is the same video that the highest Sikh religious authority, Akal Takht, summoned Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann about. At that time, Mann had claimed the video was fake, raising questions about its validity.

It has now been alleged that a private lab in Gurugram was used to create a forensic report that falsely declared the video as fake. The complaint states that a deal of approximately 1 million rupees was made for this report. Sources indicate that this alleged transaction took place at a hotel in the Sector-29 area.

Acting on a complaint by an individual named Jasveer, Gurugram police have detained two suspects identified as Ankit and Arun. The police are currently interrogating them regarding the case. However, no official detailed statement has been released by the police concerning the arrests and allegations.

The investigation has revealed that both suspects are accused of creating and distributing an AI-based deepfake video of a chief minister from a neighboring state. The police are also examining the legitimacy of the digital resources and forensic processes used to produce and validate the video.

According to police, it has come to light that the individuals involved did not possess any government-recognized or authorized lab for such digital analysis. The authenticity of the digital activities and the report generated is under scrutiny.

Additionally, the investigation is looking into the alleged transaction of 1 million rupees. Police sources have indicated that 250,000 rupees were deposited into one bank account, while 750,000 rupees were deposited into another.

The police are now sending the video for forensic testing to verify its authenticity. They are also investigating the potential involvement of any other individuals, including influential figures. Officials have stated that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
