
Lucknow, June 23: A devastating fire broke out on Monday in the Puraniya area of Aliganj, Lucknow, resulting in the loss of 15 lives. Two individuals remain hospitalized at KGMU for treatment.
The victims include Shahjahan from Janakipuram, Alam Bagh’s Sukhmany Singh, Aditya Srivastava from Sitapur, Jwanil Chakraborty, Sagar Pant from Gudamba, Neelesh from Hazratganj, Sayyam from Kanpur Nagar, Bhavishya, Jyoti from Chinhat, Abdul Rahman from Shahadatganj, Anamika Samant from New Alipur, Kolkata, Mo. Ammar from Barabanki, Anuchha from Utrethiya, and Somalya from South 24 Parganas, Bengal.
Severely injured in the incident are Lavpreet from Aliganj and Jayant from Aishbagh, who are currently receiving medical care at KGMU.
In response to the tragedy, the government has intensified its actions. An FIR has been filed against four named and several unidentified individuals, citing serious charges under sections 105, 110, 125, and 3(5) of the BNS.
Following the incident, an investigation into negligence has commenced, and actions against those responsible have been expedited. Four accused individuals have been suspended, while three others have been arrested.
The suspended officials include Gaurav Kumar, Executive Engineer of Janakipuram Collection, Kamalendra Kumar Singh, FSSO of Indira Nagar, Anil Kumar, Assistant Engineer, and Pramod Pandey, Junior Engineer. Immediate action was taken against these officials following directives from the Chief Minister.
On Monday, police apprehended three suspects: 43-year-old Ramkrishna Upadhyay, 62-year-old Virendra Prasad Shukla, and 31-year-old Tushok Krishna Jaiswal.
