New Delhi, June 23: On the occasion of Sacrifice Day, a tribute was paid to the prominent nationalist, educator, and founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other central ministers, commemorated his contributions.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed on X, “I pay humble tribute to the revered Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, who dedicated his life to ensuring the unity and integrity of the nation. As a prominent nationalist and educator, Dr. Mukherjee made unforgettable contributions to preserving national unity, cultural identity, and democratic values. Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X, stating, “On the Sacrifice Day of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Jana Sangh and a staunch advocate for the unity and integrity of the country, I bow in reverence. Dr. Mukherjee, a pioneer of cultural nationalism, vocally opposed the notion of ‘two constitutions, two heads, and two flags’ in Kashmir and fought for Bengal to remain a part of India.
