Tragic Elephant Attack Claims Elderly Couples Lives in Madhya Pradesh

Indore, June 1: A tragic incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district has resulted in the death of an elderly couple due to an elephant attack. This event has sparked outrage among local villagers, who are questioning the effectiveness of the administration and forest department.

According to reports, a herd of elephants invaded Chingi village in the Gajar Panchayat late Sunday night. They surrounded a mud house where the elderly couple was sleeping. Moments later, the elephants became aggressive and began to demolish the house. The couple was unable to escape and tragically lost their lives under the weight of the elephants.

The victims have been identified as Bhaiya Lal and his wife. Following the incident, villagers expressed their anger and refused to allow the bodies to be removed. They are accusing the administration of negligence, claiming that the elephants frequently pass through the area without any intervention from the forest department. As a result, Bhaiya Lal lost his life.

Villagers stated that their lives have become increasingly difficult due to the presence of elephants. Many families have been displaced, while Bhaiya Lal’s family and several others have not received any relocation benefits and are forced to remain in the village.

Upon learning of the incident, officials from the administration, revenue, and police departments arrived at the scene. They assured the villagers that they would implement a relocation policy and provide compensation, and that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the matter.
